Since opening our doors on March 10, 2004, Eastside has served over 1100 different families (that's over 4000 different clients!). Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 4-6pm, student volunteers interview clients, distribute groceries, and read books with kids in the lobby!
A free 3-day supply of food is available to anyone who walks through our doors. To receive further assistance (once every two weeks) clients must live in East Austin (78702, 78721, 78722, 78723) and meet certain income requirements. The Food Pantry program is designed to stabilize a family in times of food insecurity. Eastside Community Connection will encourage clients to strive for long-term independence from social services through education.
